One More Night : (

They said we could bring him home but they prefer that he stay because he’s still draining and if we brought him home, we might have to bring him back tomorrow anyway to have the drain removed and so why don’t you just leave him here so we can empty his drain every couple of hours and check with us in the morning?

All I know is that we’re here, he’s there and everyone is sad.  Once I bust him out of there, I’m not bringing him back.

Well, until I have to.

Hope to have happier news tomorrow night.

P.S  He’s eating and peeing.  That’s my boy!

Tate came to us in October 2007, was diagnosed with histiocytic sarcoma in February 2011, had a hemipelvectomy on March 15, 2011, and left us on November 28, 2011. He was 5 years old.

  1. Eating and peeing are excellent!!! We often have to wait a few days to do the first pee dance (yea, we celebrate everything here). Don’t be surprised if the first post surgery BM takes a few days.
I know it’s hard to leave Tate with the vet, but he is in good hands. I will say again to take this opportunity to get some rest, and be sure the house is ready for Tate’s return.

  2. So Dakota and Evelyn will split a small piece of pizza tonight to celebrate Tate’s eating and peeing! Let them know when he poops so they can have another one. Karen’s right; any excuse for a pawty.

  3. Dang! Too bad they dont give us meds so we can sleep well too while we wait for them…just joking! But I do know what is is like to wait and worry. Since we had to travel, they kept Bud in ICU for 3 days. Hopefully Tate is resting comfortably and you have happy reunion news tomorrow! We will keep our paws crossed!

  4. PS…not gonna tell Bud that Dakota and Evelyn are having pizza…all he got was 2 small chunks of apple tonight!
