We had talked about getting a little sister for Tate for a couple of years and never acted on it so we figured if we’re going to do it, we’d better do it now. So meet Sam.
I don’t know why they did this to me, this little brat doesn’t know how to act. She gets in my face and plays with all my toys without asking. She takes up everyone’s time with her constant peeing and pooping and learning how to sit and stay and come and go. I’ve growled more in the last week than I have my whole entire life.
But she is kinda cute.
geesh…ain’t it so!!! i got a little brother ‘sam’ this past march…it’s so hard to train them, and they don’t even seem to want to follow the rules. two months in, it’s getting kinda better, so give your new sis some slack and i bet she’ll grow on you…
Tate’s so polite, we had to let him know it was okay to correct her. She pushed him and pushed him and he finally barked at her – and immediately looked at me like “oops!” But he tries to play with her, she’s so little he’s not quite sure what to do. So I think you’re right, she’ll grow on him.
Oh boy do I smell trouble! In about 4 months or so, I think they will be tearing it up together. Once she outgrows the obnoxiousness of puppyhood but is still a teenager, I’m betting they will really go at it. I hope Tate is taking his vitamins.
Awww! Nothin’ cuter than a puppy! She looks just like a tiny Tater.
Rio’s first big sister, Shasta, was very adamant about everybody following the rules, and Rio learned quickly how to behave with Shasta. However, she pestered the crap out of her other big sis, Nakita, because she could get away with it. She’d lick her face and chew on her ears and just be a royal pain in Kita’s butt.
When we got Zephyr, it was a total role reversal for Rio on how she used to pester the Kita-bug. Payback time for the Woo.
Never fear, they will work out their differences in no time at all. Way faster than potty training!!!! 🙂

I’ve been out of touch with tripawds lately but heard you were here and had to write. I lost my sweet loving flattie Ruthie almost a year ago. She lost her left rear from a synovial cell tumor with a histiocytic variant. She was 1 week shy of her 6th birthday. She had a fantastic full 8-1/2 months before she lost the battle after 9 months. I have another flattie now who is 11-1/2 months old…your Sam is adorable. They really are fantastic dogs. Ruthie never got to met Tess.
Congratulations on Sam…Tess sends tail wags,
